Primary for Tots Ballet: Vol. II

Sample Video

“Dance: The Cutting Edge – Primary Ballet for Tots, Vol. II” is the next level of training, and a precursor to our “Traditional Ballet: Levels 1-4,” presented in an animated setting for learners ages 3 through 6. Young children greatly benefit from Pre-Ballet classes because they help youngsters learn self and body awareness, counting (in measures of 8), musicality, listening, paying attention to detail, discipline, and goal setting. This entertainment-based curriculum enhances both cognitive and physical development of our tots.

Our “Primary Ballet” series should be used with all of our other dance series’, as ballet is an excellent foundation for all forms of dance! Volume II includes more than 50 exciting steps for dance work on center floor, as well as progression movement across the floor. Students will learn Paint a Circle, The Puppet, Ballerina Arm Waves, Tendu on Cloud, London Bridge, Stomping Feet, Demi Plie, Port de Bras, Echappé, Jump Combo, and more! These fundamental learning steps prepare young dancers for the advancement to traditional, beginning Ballet. This volume starts the dancer in the center with a series of steps, then progresses to the barre for traditional technique lessons appropriate for the age group. The tots then finish their class with center technique followed by across the floor movements such as March and Skips, Fairy Runs, Polka Step, Ice Skating, and more!

The instructor for this video is Sofia Arencibia, who grew up training intensively at Artistic Dance Center, where she is now the artistic director. She performed lead roles in The Nutcracker and many variations from classic works such as La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, Napoli, and more. She also performed pas de deux roles in classical works including Swan Lake, Paquita, and more.
