Musical Theater Choreography Series: Beginner-Advanced

“Dance: The Cutting Edge-Musical Theater Choreography Series” was created with brand new material by Kimberly Beck Thomson, an award-winning choreographer. Kimberly offers creative choreography with consistent mindfulness of technique and stage presence – a perfect choice for any dancer looking to add to their repertoire. The script, the score, and the soundtrack of any Musical Theater performance will inform the dancer of how best to present their talents. The video series will feature guest choreographers who share their experience and expertise with students. Whether it’s the collaborations of Rodgers and Hammerstein, with their soaring piano melodies about Oklahoma!, or the poetic and eccentric songs of CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber, musical theater dancers must adapt and change to the music and vision of the artist they dance for.

The series is designed for a range of skill levels, including beginner through advanced, with creative choreography demonstrated from a combination of genres to include “Traditional Ballet”, “Modern Movement”, and “Jazz Fusion”. Dance: The Cutting Edge streaming videos are shot with multiple camera angles to provide students with a 360 degree view of every step.
